All About Me!

Hi there!  Thanks for dropping by my little place on the web!

I’m Sam.  I’m 29, a Child Development Bachelor’s Degree holder, and I probably have paint in my hair and on my clothes.  Or maybe it’s food.  I’m a daughter of God, wife, mother, sign-maker, dreamer, writer, reader.

I love everything DIY and crafting.  I’m a strong believer that everything can be made beautiful with a little love and vision (& not a whole lot of money).  Just see what we did with our outdated kitchen for $300!  I never want anything in my house to be too perfect, because, well, where’s the fun in that?   My house is a mixture of rustic, farmhouse, lake house; all with a touch of modern.  I love old stuff and new stuff that looks old. And Ikea.  Check out the most current house tour here!

My family is my main priority around here and I love that I am able to stay at home with my kiddos!  There are definitely days where running a household and raising young kids can get you down, but I wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂

Oh.  We are big Ohio State fans, if you didn’t know!

I use way too many exclamation points and smiley faces when I type, stick around, you’ll see.  It kind of makes my husband crazy.  Speaking of husbands, that’s mine right there.  He’s my biggest fan and motivator.  He listens while I babble about what projects I want to do next and keeps me grounded when I get a little too zealous.  I’d be lost without him (& my computer would probably be broken).

We met and fell in love in high school while I worked for his parent’s at their ice cream shop. Over ten years later, we’ve been married for almost 7 years and have two amazing little boys and a beautiful baby girl.

Alex is almost 5.  He’s rambunctious, cuddly, smart, fast, and loves to explore everything.  He asks a lot of questions and loves all things dinosaur/reptile/creepy crawlies.  He loves preschool, reading, animals, and sports.  He is SO EXCITED to start kindergarten next year!

Christian is 3!  He’s got red hair and the attitude to go with it.  He’s sweet, shy, smiley and mischievous.  He loves trains, trains and trains.  His favorite movie is The Polar Express, all year ’round.  He gives us a run for our money!

Madi is 8 months old.  She is such a joy and always smiling!  She absolutely adores her big brothers and they are equally as smitten with her.  She is a super laid back baby and a great sleeper.  We are so lucky she is ours!

Oh, and we can’t forget the cutest mutt on the block!  This is Luna.  We rescued her a few years ago and she makes our little family complete.  She loves chasing squirrels and following Alex, Christian, & Madi around for food.

Thank you so much for dropping by!  I am so thankful for all of you readers!  You are the reason I keep coming back to write about my successes, failures and crazy ideas.  Thank you, thank you, thank you! =]

  1. Can you email me??? I’m trying to figure something out but my comment won’t post on the article I’m trying to post on!! 🙁

  2. Hi Sam…We too are children of God and have three children – two boys and a girl, however ours are almost thirty, but still kids at heart. Our oldest son played junior football and is now giving back by coaching at this alumni hight school. When I saw the crochet football hat I knew right away that he would LOVE this and I would like to make it for him as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. Might you help me enlarge this pattern so that it would fit an adult male head? Thanks so much. Kathryn (in cold Canada)P.S. The pattern is soooooo cute
