A Few Things About Christian

I introduced you all to my littlest love a few weeks ago, but thought I might enlighten you on a few things that I have learned about him!

He has a love/hate relationship with his binky.  Sometimes, he takes that thing in a flash and other times he acts like it is the most disgusting thing in the world.  I always imagine him saying things to me like “how could you even think I would want this?” and “don’t you know anything about me at all?” when I try to give him his paci.  But usually, mom (& dad) know best, and he ends up accepting our gracious gift of a pacifier.

He goes from sleeping to starving in about half a second.  This kid loves to eat.  During the day he’s asking for food every 2 hours at least and he doesn’t waste any time letting me know how starving he is!  Luckily, he gives me a break for 4 hours at a time at night.

He has a radar for when I lay down/am almost asleep/am comfor (oh, I’m sorry.  Christian needed to eat) table/need to get work done.  These are his favorite times to eat and snuggle.

I know you aren’t supposed to compare your children, but i don’t think it applies unless you want one to be more like the other.  I love how different my boys are!  Looks wise, Christian is a spitting (albeit chunkier) version of Alex.  Here is Alex and Christian both on day 1.

They even have the same little scowl.

Christian is growing so fast!  The clothes he is wearing now, I distinctly remember Alex wearing some of them in the fall (when he was 5 months old; Christian is 6 weeks old).  Granted, Christian had a head start of about 2 lbs at birth over Alex =]

He is a squirmy little worm.  He can wiggle his way out of any swaddle, even dad’s master swaddle.  I usually find him each time he wakes at night with his hands up above his head.  He also doesn’t like his feet being swaddled or his car seat.  At. All.

Alex is such a great big brother, sometimes a little too great.  He loves to climb in his rock and play to “baby kiss” and give him hugs while they are on the floor.  He always helps Christian with tummy time, which is just the sweetest thing ever.

I feel like we are still getting to know each other.  He has so much to teach me!  For right now, I’m having so much fun watching him grow and learn every day!

Does anybody else think it’s amazing how different/similar siblings can be?  You think baby #2 will be a breeze because you’ve “done this before” and then they remind you that they are their own person, and you have to learn to parent all over again.
