Curtain Call!

What??  We finally have curtains up in our bedroom!  I have been procrastinating replacing the sheer green ones that were there when we moved in.  (Apologies for the terrible before picture, it’s from the online listing)

Master Bedroom Curtains Before

I don’t remember when I took those down, I think it was quite a while ago, though.  We were living with this blank wall ever since and I knew it was driving John crazy.  Note the left blind that Luna destroyed in her first few weeks with us.  Don’t worry we rigged it back up with staples for the time being, until we decide what we really want in here =]

Before

I have been eyeing some curtains at Ikea for some time now and have just never gotten around to buying them.  So, when I got a gift card to Ikea for Christmas, I knew exactly what I was going to get!

Our room is still sort of a blank canvas.  I really don’t want to just throw things up on the wall and then end up not liking whatever I have done.  Our furniture is mine from college that I painted before moving to Ohio.  I’m really not in love with my paint color choices.  I mean, brown on brown?  Come on Sam, you could have done better than that.  I will say it is a slight improvement over the pinkish/white color that it was beforehand.

I eventually want to replace all of the wicker bedroom set with thrifty finds or things that we have built ourselves.  I don’t want it to be so matchy-matchy anymore and I want it to really reflect us!

Anyways, I digress.

Curtains.

So, I wanted something light and airy because that’s what I’m feeling these days.  These curtains couldn’t be beat for $15/pair. I like the organic lines but it also stays modern with the pattern.  And you really can’t go wrong with white curtains.

Here they are up in the room (before hemming).  I’ll save you from the bore of me telling you again how I so expertly hem curtains =]  I promise to show you a more put together picture of our room when it is actually put together.

The pattern on our curtains reads a lot more subtle in real life, especially when there is sunshine coming through them!

Christian also scored some curtains from Ikea for his nursery.  How perfect are these for his woodland theme?

We are finally getting things together in here.  Nothing like a 2 week deadline to get your tush in gear!

I do still want to get Alex’s room (mostly) done first, as he was here first =]  This weekend is going to be the big furniture move that I talked about here.  John is finishing up a project for Alex’s room (that I will hopefully share next week) tonight!  Can’t believe my baby is going to have a big boy room!

Anybody else getting a nursery ready?  Are you on track to finish it before the baby actually arrives?  Kudos to you if you are!
